BIOGRAPHY
Richard A. Herman brings to the Firm almost 50 years of experience in the areas of Property Law and Business Law. More particularly, he handles residential and commercial real estate transaction, real estate financing, environmental matters concerning real estate, real estate tax appeals, commercial transactions and financing, wills, trusts, estate planning, estate probate and administration. Mr. Herman is also an seasoned mediator in private disputes and court ordered mediations as a roster mediator the New Jersey Courts.
Mr. Herman has served as a Deputy Attorney General of New Jersey where he was counsel to the New Jersey Department of Transportation and served as Special Counsel to the New York State Legislature on regulatory reform issues.
Mr. Herman was a Professor of Law at Albany Law School and served as Chairman of its Curriculum Committee. At Albany Law School he taught courses in Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, Legislation, Government Regulation of Business, Government Regulation of Banking, Government Contracts, Civil Procedure and Alternate Dispute Resolution and was instrumental in the initial stages of the Government Law Center.
He has also taught at the University of Miami Law and William Paterson University, as well in professional development courses for practicing attorneys in courses offered by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Education, the New York State Bar Association, the Bergen County Bar Association and the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators.
